waiting is the worst

My heart aches every time I think of all of those taken away from their families by injustice.

They go day in and day out not knowing if their loved one will return.

The hearings are months away, and they sit in a cold, barred cell, isolated from the world—isolated from you.

Waiting is the worst.

Life has a way of not being fair for those who know they’re doing all they can to keep up.

I wish I could do more.
I wish all the advocacy in the world could change everyone’s circumstance.

It will help.
It matters.

But what I can’t do is fill that emptiness, the loneliness, the sadness as they wait.

Just know that there are people out there fighting.
There are people out there that care.

And to those individuals facing this impossible situation—know you will find a way through it.

Don’t give up on the world.

Compassion, love, and empathy still exist.

I will continue holding you up the best way I know how, even though it doesn’t seem like enough.
